I’ve recently been working on a design concept for a Wordpress theme as part of a personal project. In this walk through we’ll go through the process of converting the design concept from PSD document right through to completed HTML and CSS mockup, complete with clean and valid code, a few touches of CSS3 and some quick fixes to help out old IE6.

One of the nice things about Google's free Blogger service is that you can easily change the look of your blog. On a simple level, you can tweak the blog's fonts and colours via the Fonts and Colors tab in the admin area, and add, remove and reposition blog widgets with the Page Elements tab.

Hypertext Pre-processor (PHPs) is a server-side scripting language, and server-sidescripts are special commands you must place in Web pages. Those commands are processed before the pages are sent from your Server to the Web browser of your visitor. A typical PHP files will content commads to be executed in the server in addition to the usual mixture of text and HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) tags.

First off, let me welcome you to the world of PHP. You will find in your learning that PHP is both powerful and flexible. I know from personal experience that PHP seems like a beast when you first start working with it, but remember this: all of the gurus around here at HostMatrix and elsewhere were once a novice like yourself, they all learned in their own ways and are now where they are because of the learning process you are about to begin.
