Why Are We Drawn To Art Why Are We Drawn To Art Proud

I was riding on the bus this morning to Town Center and to the left of me was a charming looking lad holding what appeared to be an Art Folder. After a few intense minutes of wondering what was in the folder, i eventually worked up the nerve to ask him. He kindly showed me, and some of the things in that folder were just mind blowing.

Which got me thinking as i was day dreaming looking out of the bus window – Everyone can relate to art, however everyone interprets it in their own way, each person adds emotion to it and thinks of certain details in the way that relates to them and their life.

Art is great as it draws everyone in to look at it, most of us can’t understand what art is trying to say upon first glance, sometimes it takes a couple of glances to understand what the artist is trying to tell the viewers, however sometimes people look into art work a little too much and end up reading the art in too much detail; which is fine, but art should be simple yet give everyone new concepts, possibilities and ideas that we all know but have never realized or thought about, it should bring details to the surface so everyone can understand what the artist is saying.

Have you ever looked at a piece of art and thought “That is so true” like most people do for Facebook’s groups. Then you suddenly find yourself in your own self-created world where all your life’s worries seemed to have disappeared, you eventually lose yourself in the artwork and get caught up in a million and one difference scenarios on how the artwork could be interpreted, you feel truly lost, yet fully aware.
In a sense, art is never complete; there is only so much that an artist can do, we then leave it up to the imagination of the viewer. When we enjoy art, we tend to expand it and improve it with our own imagination and then we often gain ideas from ones artwork and make it our own with a new concept. Artists only goal is to make the onlooker enjoy it as much as they did and to show that of which the artist intended. It is then up to the viewer to add their own swing to it and relate it back to their life and see things as it best fits them.

So after talking about what makes art so attractive, I’ll put it blunt and say that art is mystery, no one likes to be in the dark about things. It’s like knowing your best friend has a secret, you want to know this secret right? – It’s the same thing with art, you want to know what it’s secrets are, however, no one knows. Art has no definition, art has no real meaning, art has no feeling nor emotion. Art refuses all of these things, art is just art, it only gives you a reflection of yourself as art is what you make it.

We all admire art in many ways, yet we may never know why.
