Pandoras Canvas was created as a central art site for learning, sharing, and gathering resources. The site was born from the netMist project which after 2 months of having individual art sites, it was decided to combine them all together into one mega art site.

Obviously I made a mistake when I originally set up the netMist concept, so after analyzing and listening to all of your thoughts we've decided to go back to an individual art site. We still have plans on expanding the netMist network out to accommodate more websites, but we'll be more cautious on how we do this. You'll find out more about this as we continue to move forward.

We got the name Pandoras Canvas based off the ancient Greek God Pandora. Most of you know of the name from the weapon she carried known as "Pandoras Box", but many of you don't understand that she only opened the box out of curiosity and not out of evil intentions.

As legend tells it, she was put together from the gods and was the first woman on earth molded from the earth. The name Pandora means "All Gifted" and she was given this name because all of the gods from Olympus gave her a gift in her creation.
